our recent stay in tortuguero was amazing, but laguna lodge truly exceeded our expectations. the location, with direct access to the lagoon and beach, was unbeatable. the guided tours were enjoyable and our guide, mario, was passionate and attentive. the accommodation was basic but surrounded by beautiful gardens. the pools and restaurant were great too - the entire experience was fantastic!
noisy boat tours disturb wildlife.

The guestrooms at Laguna Lodge in Tortuguero are incredibly comfortable and perfect for a good night's sleep. I loved waking up to the sound of nature on the balcony, feeling the gentle breeze from the fan, and knowing my belongings were secure in the in-room safe. The hot water in the private bathroom was a bonus!
Personally, I didn't enjoy the wooden benches outside the room, but hey, that's just me. Others might find them cozy and charming.

I absolutely fell in love with the homely feel of this jungle retreat. The rustic decoration and natural surroundings created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The general areas were beautifully decorated with local artwork and had plenty of comfortable seating for leisurely activities like reading or bird-watching. As a senior woman, I greatly appreciated the accessibility of the hotel. The staff was always available to assist me, and there were ramps and handrails throughout the property, making it easy for me to navigate and enjoy all the amenities.
If I had one small request for improvement, it would be for the staff to provide larger font options for printed materials and signs around the hotel. As a senior, it can sometimes be challenging to read small print, and having easily legible signs and information would have made my vacation even more enjoyable.

The location of this property is mind-blowing! With direct beach access and a 3km walk to the village, you can enjoy early morning beach walks and see baby turtles hatching. The guide provided exceptional experiences, showing us red-eyed frogs and accompanying us on nature trails. The two pools with waterfalls and a jacuzzi were super relaxing, and the presence of frogs, butterflies, and iguanas added to the charm. The restaurant by the water offered amazing views and the smoothie bar and pasta station were jaw-dropping. The included transportation was convenient and comfortable, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The free Wi-Fi and provided umbrellas were a nice touch. The boat tour was better than expected, and the all-inclusive package offered great value. We had a fantastic guide who made our experience unforgettable. a truly enjoyable stay with awesome views and nature experiences!

Comfortable and cozy rooms: After a long day exploring the lush jungle, I sank into the comfortable bed at Laguna Lodge and instantly felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. It was like being wrapped in a warm hug, giving me the perfect rest I needed for the next day's adventures.
Path to the boats: The path to the boats from the bus stop was quite muddy, making it a bit challenging to drag our luggage through.

Had a nice holiday over Christmas, pleasant stay in lovely rooms with big bathrooms. The location was great, right near the beach and had awesome views. Also, the staff were really friendly and helpful.
The lack of air conditioning was a major downside, especially during the hot and humid weather. It made it difficult to sleep comfortably.
